The Kurdistan Democratic Party confirmed that a meeting will be held tomorrow, Saturday or next Sunday at the latest, between its party, the Patriotic Union and Kurdish parties under the auspices of the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, to discuss topics, including the file of naming the President of the Republic.

A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party, Ali Al-Faili, told Iraqi Media Network(IMN), followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Democratic and Union parties continue the dialogue, and in the coming days they may reach an agreement to nominate a consensual figure for the presidency."

He added, "The Democrat sees the need to change the Union's candidate, Barham Salih, and in return, we will make a concession if the matter is done, and there are many names put forward from those who submitted their candidacy, and one of them can be agreed upon."

He continued, "Otherwise, this will mean that the two parties will enter two candidates for the position during the voting session on the President of the Republic, and there are developments and transformations in the political process after the withdrawal of the Sadrist movement from the House of Representatives and the leadership of the coordination framework for dialogues, and a compromise solution should be reached between the two parties to end this file."

He stressed that "a meeting will be held tomorrow, Saturday or Sunday, between the two parties, in the presence of other parties, the President of the Kurdistan Region, Nechirvan Barzani, and the United Nations representative, Jenin Plasschaert, to discuss several topics, including the file of the President of the Republic, and we hope to come up with an agreement to end the crisis."
