A drug trafficking gang including a women, arrested in Maysan

Maysan Police Directorate announced on Thursday, capturing of a drug trafficking gang in flagrante delicto in the province center.

The directorate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "based on accurate intelligence and field follow-up, the Maysan Anti-Crime Police detachments, under the command of the department director, were able to arrest a gang that trades and distributes drugs, consisting of 5 people, including a woman in one the province center areas, after obtaining judicial approvals.”

 The statement added, "They were caught in flagrante delicto in one of the houses in the province center, and they were in possession of several bags of crystal narcotic, tools used for drug use, a AK47 type weapon and sums of money."

It pointed out that "their statements were fundamentally recorded and referred to the competent authorities to complete the rest of the investigations."
