OEC: Encouraging results for oil investment in Al-Muthanna province

    The Oil Exploration Company (OEC) at the Ministry of Oil announced on Tuesday, the deployment of 8 teams in four governorates, while indicating that quantities of oil were found in Al-Muthanna Governorate.

    The Director General of the OEC, Basim Mohammad Khudhair told the Iraqi news agency (INA) that," The activity of OEC is focused on searching for new reserves to increase the existing ones," noting that "the company's exploratory teams are spread in a wide range of the country."

    “OEC has deployed three exploratory teams in the western area, specifically in Anbar Governorate in the northern and southern parts, one team in Al-Muthanna, two teams in Nineveh, one exploratory team in Wasit and one in Basra ", pointing out that the survey information will be subject to processing operations upon completion and analysis and study, then the oil composition is determined,”he also mentioned.
     
    He stated that "Each process takes a period of no less than 3 years, as there are previous plans that are currently under study in various regions, including Majnoon field in Basra and others."
     
     
    He added that "exploratory teams are still working in Al-Muthanna Governorate, as they have reached encouraging results indicating the presence of quantities of oil in different areas of the province."
