The Security Media Cell (SMC) announced on Saturday, the arrest of two terrorists and four gangs of drug trafficking in different areas in the capital, Baghdad.
"To enhance security and stability in all areas of the capital, Baghdad, the security forces continue to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist groups, members of organized crime and dealers and promoters of narcotic substances through implementing of judicial arrest warrants," said SMC in a statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
The statement added, "The continues security operations resulted in the arrest of two suspects in accordance with Article 4/1 of Anti-Terrorism Law, while monitoring their movements and whereabouts within the two areas of (Al-Mahmoudiya, Rashidiya)", noting that " Four gangs were also arrested for promoting and trading narcotic substances and seized quantities of Crystal meth in their possession, in addition to weapons and unlicensed ammunition and forged sums of money in the areas of (Al Rashidiya, Chechnya, Adhamiya, Al Shurtah 5th, Asia District) on Karkh and Rusafa sides."
He pointed out, "The accused, along with the seized materials, were handed over to the competent authorities to complete the legal procedures against them."
