capturing wanted man on charges of arms trafficking in Basra, SMC reports

The Security Media Cell(SMC) announced on Tuesday , the arrest of a wanted man on charges of arms trafficking in Basra.

SMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "according to accurate intelligence information, the detachments of the Basra Intelligence and Security Directorate, affiliated to the General Directorate of Intelligence and Security, and in coordination with the Basra Operations Command, were able to arrest one of those wanted by the judiciary on charges of arms trade in the Basra province."

The statement added "the accused was seized in his possession large quantities of weapons and various ammunition that were hidden inside his house," noting that "the seized materials were dealt with in a fundamental manner, and the accused was referred to the judiciary."
