The Security Media Cell announced Today, Thursday, the arrest of 57 suspects in various cases in different areas of Baghdad.
SMC said in A statement, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "A force from the Agency Of Intelligence And Federal Investigation, in cooperation with a force from the 24th Infantry Brigade, was able to arrest a suspect in accordance with Article 4 of Anti- Terrorism Law, after a field follow-up and monitoring of his presence in Abu Ghraib area, as he is wanted by the Directorate of Intelligence and Combating Terrorism in Babil.
The statement added, "The Eleventh Infantry Divisions were able to arrest (19) wanted suspects according to various legal articles, meanwhile, the First and Second Division units of the Federal Police managed to arrest (8) accused of theft, murder, weapons possession, and drug abuse, during search and inspect operations within Karkh and Rusafa sides.
In a related issue, the statement indicated that "A joint force of the intelligence of the 15th Federal Police Brigade, Karrada Security Intelligence and the AIFI were also able to arrest four girls on charges of drug dealing in Karrada area."
“Baghdad Police Rescue Directorate also arrested two accused, a man and a woman, on charges of scam and fraud," SMC added.
The statement also pointed out that "The arrestees and the seized materials were referred to the competent authorities to take all the legal procedures against them fundamentally.
