Babylon Veterinary Department announced Wednesday a new measure to reduce hemorrhagic fever disease.
The director of the veterinary hospital in Babylon, Ahmed Fadel Farhoud, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the campaign that was launched a month ago to combat the ticks, the direct carrier of hemorrhagic fever, has been extended until further notice."
He explained, "The campaign was scheduled to end at the end of May, but instructions from the authorities to continue the campaign with the provision of all medicines, pesticides and special tools to protect the mobile teams to combat ticks."
He added that "the veterinary hospital continues, through 16 mobile teams, the process of immersing sheep, cows and buffaloes and spraying barns and places of buying and selling livestock with the necessary pesticides to kill ticks, the main carrier of hemorrhagic fever."
