MOFA inaugurates the passport issuance system at the consular section of the Iraqi Embassy in Cairo

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MOFA) announced on Tuesday, the opening of the passport issuance system in the consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo, stressing that it is proceeding to open 20 other systems in many countries.

    "Based on the directive of the Minister of MOFA, Fouad Hussein, to provide the best consular services to the members of the Iraqi community residing abroad, and within the framework of the ministry's plan to expand the provision of electronic services and automate the consular work, MOFA opened a system for issuing passports in the consular section of the Embassy of the Republic of Iraq in Cairo," Ministry spokesman Ahmed Al-Sahaf said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

    "This measure will contribute significantly to reduce the time needed to issue passports to citizens," he added.

    Al-Sahaf confirmed that "the ministry is proceeding with the opening of (20) other systems in many countries, to facilitate the procedures for issuing passports to members of the Iraqi community."
