FM and Romanowski stress the importance of the PM's visit to Washington in developing relations

    Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fouad Hussein and US Ambassador Alina Romanowski stressed today, Thursday, the importance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani's visit to Washington in developing relations.

    The Ministry of Foreign Affairs said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): “Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs Fuad Hussein received, today, the Ambassador of the United States of America to Iraq, Alina Romanowski,” noting, “The importance of Prime Minister Muhammad Shiaa Al-Sudani's visit to Washington and the importance it represents in developing relations between Iraq and the United States.”.

    The two sides praised "the success witnessed by the round of meetings between representatives of the two countries from various sectors included in the strategic framework agreement for cooperation between Baghdad and Washington, which coincided with the Prime Minister's visit last month.".

    They stressed "the importance of following up on the outcomes of the visit and the meetings of the agreement's Supreme Coordination Committee (HCC).".

    The US Ambassador delivered to the minister a written message of condolence from US Secretary of State Anthony Blinken, containing his condolences on the death of his wife.
