A member of the Kurdistan Democratic Party - KDP Muhsin Al-Saadoun affirmed on Monday, the party's readiness to meet with all Kurdish parties, including the National Union, to end the crisis of naming the President of the Republic post, while he expected ‘Save The Homeland’ Alliance is to obtain the support of half of the independent Members of Parliament for its orientations to form a government of national unity.

"Today's meeting of the leaders of the Save a Homeland Alliance, representing the Sadrist Movement, the Democratic Party, and the Alliance of Sovereignty in Erbil, as it confirmed the support for the initiative of the leader of the Sadrist movement, Sayyed Muqtada al-Sadr, to invite independent MPs to form a government and open towards supporters to form a government of the national majority,” said Al-Saadoun to Al-Iraqiya News TV, followed up by the Iraqi News Agency – INA.

He added, "Sayyed Al-Sadr gave the coordination framework 40 days to form the government, but it was able to do so, and Save a Homeland Alliance will communicate with the independent MPs in order to apply the initiative,".

Al-Saadoun expressed his belief that Save the Homeland Alliance obtained the support of half of the independent MPs for its orientations, noting that "a number of independent MPs joined the tripartite coalition to attend the presidential election session that was not held, and the understandings do exist with the independent MPs,".

"Yesterday, there was a meeting of the leadership of the KDP and confirmed that it was ready to meet with all Kurdish parties, including the National Union to end the crisis of naming the President of the Republic, as a right of the Kurdish component, and because this designation will pave the way for the designation of the prime minister," he stressed.
