63 participants countries, Iraq is 5th in World Taekwondo Championships

    Iraqi youth in Taekwondo won the 5th place in the world championship in the Pumsae event for juniors, with the participation of 63 countries.

    "In Iraq's first official participation in the World Championships in the Pumsae Juniors event that was held in South Korea, the Iraqi team achieved 5th place out of 63 participating countries," said the Iraqi Taekwondo Federation in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency - INA.

    The statement added, "The achievement came after the Iraqi Taekwondo Federation trained the Pumsae young players and prepared them to the international forums so that the fruits would come quickly, with an excellent achievement in the first experience of this kind as everyone was amazed,".

    "The young champions (Muhammad Ali Abdullah), (Muhaimin Laith Faiz) and (Muhammad Laith Mahdi), under the supervision of the national coach Omar Hamid achieved the best result, and the fifth place came as a first gesture, as the next championship platform will witness the rise of the Iraqi champions to their first positions with the efforts of everyone, the presidency of the Game Federation, blessed this achievement, which will be a gateway to bringing world medals to Iraq," included the statement.

    Federation President Ibrahim Al-Bahadli affirmed his continued support for this event, as there will be special attention for these young champions.
