Southern Oil Police Directorate announced Sunday that it had thwarted an attempt to breach an oil pipeline in Maysan.
The directorate said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the detachments of the eleventh regiment of the Southern Oil Police managed to thwart an attempt to breach an oil pipeline in the Qala'at Saleh district of Maysan Governorate."
It added, "The attempt to breach was early detected after that gang extended a rubber tube trying to breach the tube and link it to an abandoned house," noting that "the force was able to seize a tanker belonging to the gang at the scene of the accident."
it indicated that "the assets were seized in coordination with the technical teams of the Ministry of Oil to remove the overrun, with a detailed investigation into the accident in one of the oil police stations."
