Al-Halbousi: On the anniversary of the Anfal tragedy, we recall the importance of building a state of justice and equality

 Parliament Speaker Muhammad Al-Halbousi stressed the inevitability and importance of building a state of justice, equality and law, while recalling the brutal Anfal tragedy.

Al-Halbousi said in a tweet followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "For thirty-four years, the Anfal crime did not fall under the statute of limitations, and it remained a witness to injustice, dictatorship and tyranny against our honorable Kurdish people."

He added, "Today, as we recall the brutal and painful tragedy of Anfal, we recall the inevitability and importance of building a state of justice, equality, law and institutions, under a democratic system in which security, stability and peace prevail."
