Al-Ghazi receives Australian Ambassador to Baghdad Paula Ganly

    The Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, confirmed today, Tuesday that the emergency support law will secure the entitlements of 6 service areas.
    The media office of the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Secretary-General of the Council of Ministers, Hamid Naim Al-Ghazi, received the Australian ambassador in Baghdad, Paula Ganly."
    According to the statement, Al-Ghazi praised the strong bilateral relations that bind the governments and peoples of the two countries, and seek to develop and deepen it in various fields, especially in the process of investment, trade and economy, praising the continued support of the Australian government to the Iraqi people in the humanitarian aspects and the effort to support stability in the liberated areas.
    He stressed, "The law of emergency support and development approved by the Council of Ministers came due to the repercussions of the Russian-Ukrainian war, and its reflection on the global economic situation in general, and on the Iraqi citizen in particular, as it will allow securing 6 service entitlements represented by importing gas, supplying electrical energy and improving the ration list, increasing the annual share for the Iraqi individual, improving the agricultural sector and increasing the strategic stockpile of foodstuffs.
    In turn, Ganly expressed the Australian government's desire to work on opening new prospects of cooperation in the fields of investment, industry and trade, and to increase the volume of Australian imports to Iraq.
