Baghdad-INA
Ministry of Health confirmed that Iraq has not reported Friday the emergence of the fifth wave of the Corona pandemic so far, stressing that the emergence of new variants is possible.
The ministry's spokesman, Saif Al-Badr, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The rate of people vaccinated with the vaccine in countries has a key role in preventing infections with Corona," noting that "vaccines have a major role in the decline of the epidemic, especially since the mutated Omikron has less infection than injuries ,although its spread is very large, we hope that the fourth wave will recede soon.”
He added, "There are some countries in the world that have reported a new beginning with infections but Iraq has so far not reported the emergence of a fifth wave, and the possibility of the emergence of new mutants remains a possibility."
He stressed that "measures must be taken for each country determined by its circumstances, and adherence to preventive measures and physical distancing, as well as travel procedures, which are binding at the present time."
