For the first time.. Iraq heads meetings of Permanent Committee for Arab Media

    Next Wednesday, Iraq will chair, for the first time, the meetings of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media to be held in the capital, Baghdad.

    Ahmed Al-Khattawi, Assistant Secretary-General for Media and Communications Affairs at the Arab League, arrives Monday in the capital, Baghdad.

     The Chairman of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, the head of the Iraqi Media Network, Dr. Nabil Jassem, will hold a bilateral meeting with the Assistant Secretary-General, upon his arrival in Baghdad, and a subcommittee of the Arab League will hold a meeting Tuesday, in Baghdad as well.

    The meetings of the Permanent Committee for Arab Media are scheduled to start next Wednesday, while Thursday will witness a meeting of the Executive Office of the Arab League in the presence of a number of Arab ministers in the capital, Baghdad.

     The Arab League Council had approved the selection of Dr. Nabil Jassim to head the Permanent Committee for Arab Media, to be the first Iraqi to head this committee since the founding of the Arab League in 1945.
