KRG Elections trending hashtags dominate Iraqi accounts in Twitter

INA - BAGHDAD Digital Media Center (DMC) announced that the trending hashtags of the KRG elections have dominated the Iraqi accounts and pages in social media in Iraq especially, Twitter. “The hashtags are a clear sign of interest in Kurds and how the politicians adopted Twitter as a platform to present political ideas and exchanging debates as well as to support the democratic elections,” the DMC stated on Monday. Among the hashtags were, #kurdistanvotes #kurdistanelections and there were the main highly trending. The following hashtags also were trending but less than the forth mentioned: ‏‪#Kurdish ‏‪#Erbil ‏‪#TwitterKurds ‏ ‪#KRGelection ‏‪#كوردستان (Kurdistan in Arabic) ‏ ‪#Election2018 ‏‪#PUK Most of the other hashtags were exclusively in the English language.         Edited by: Shahad J Hassan
