FIFA and UEFA decided on Monday, that Russia is off the World Cup qualifiers against the backdrop of the Russian-Ukrainian war.
The Russian national team was scheduled to meet the Polish counterpart in the European play-off for the 2022 World Cup on March 24th.
The exclusion will include all Russian national teams, and therefore may affect the women's team, which is scheduled to participate in the European Championship 2022 in England, next July.
The Polish Football Association refused to face the Russian team, and after that Sweden and the Czech Republic announced their refusal to face Russia as well, as one of the two teams would meet with Russia if they beat Poland in the semi-finals.
