The Portuguese Judiciary Police (PJ) prevented on Thursday a terrorist attack against the Faculty of Sciences of the University of Lisbon.
According to the PJ, an 18-year-old youth was arrested in "flagrant delicto" in possession of weapons and is indicted for the crime of terrorism.
The PJ operation, through the National Counterterrorism Unit (UNCT), involved house searches, in which "vast evidence was seized, which would confirm the initial suspicions."
In an official statement, the PJ said that the suspect had in his possession prohibited weapons and "other articles susceptible of being used in the practice of violent crimes" against "students of the University of Lisbon."
The young man will be presented for questioning on Friday, according to the PJ.
