Al-Halbousi, as Speaker of parliament in its fifth course

The House of Representatives, in its fifth legislative course, elected Muhammad Al-Halbousi as Speaker of the Council.
According to the counting process, as stated by to the media department of the House of Representatives, Al-Halbousi obtained 200 votes, compared to 14 votes for his rival, Mahmoud al-Mashhadani, while 14 ballot papers were considered invalid.
