Тhe leader of the Sadrist movement, Muqtada al-Sadr, issued today, Thursday a statement on the occasion of the end of the combat missions of the international coalition forces.

Al-Sadr stressed, according to the statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "the necessity of sending an official legal request to the Security Council for approval, specifying headquarters, evacuating military bases and handing them over to the Iraqi army exclusively, defining tasks by a list, which must be adhered to and not violating, and specifying numbers of Individuals present in Iraqi territory and according to the need for each specialization.

He continued, "The movements of the remaining individuals, from inside and outside, are in accordance with the applicable Iraqi diplomatic laws, and the Iraqi government exclusively undertakes logistical and security support, and no external party has the right to interfere with this," pointing out the importance of "respecting the Iraqi airspace and not using the airspace until after the approval of the Iraqi government, otherwise it is considered a breach."

Al-Sader indicated that "Iraq is a fully sovereign state, and every agreement that departs from that is null and void," noting that "this step is considered a prelude to ending all foreign presence, including advisors and others in the future."

He stressed, "Any military and security presence inside the US embassy is prevented, and the official Iraqi forces pledge to do so, in addition to the fact that the mutual diplomatic representation between the two countries must be balanced according to the international diplomatic rules."

Al-Sadr called on the Prime Minister to "implement this, so that this is considered an effective end to the occupation."
