Rasoul: International Coalition advisors work in Ein Al-Asad ran by an Iraqi military leader

    The spokesman for the Office of the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, confirmed on Saturday, that the work of the advisors of the International Coalition at Ein Al-Asad base will be ran by an Iraqi military commander. 

    "To follow up the implementation of the Iraqi agreement with the international coalition forces to completely withdraw the combat forces of the coalition forces, the Iraqi Military Technical Committee, which included the National Security Adviser, the Deputy Commander of Joint Operations and the Associate Chief of the Army Staff, a number of commanders and the spokesperson for the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces and the Security Media Cell, visited Ein Al-Asad Air Base in Anbar Governorate,” said Major General Rasoul in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA). 

    He added, "We stress the termination of the tasks of the combat forces, as the work of the international coalition will be summed up in advisers to provide logistical support, advice and empowerment in the areas of training, armament, equipment and intelligence exchange,” 

    ”The work of the advisers will be within an Iraqi military base headed and managed by an Iraqi military commander, and the protection of the advisers will be by the Iraqi forces,” he included.
