Rasoul reveals the details of the intelligence officer assassination

    The spokesman for the Commander in Chief of the Armed Forces, Major General Yahya Rasoul, announced the details of the intelligence officer assassination.
    As he said to "Al-Ashrah” tv program, which is shown on Al-Iraqiya news channel, Colonel Nibras Al-Faili , an INIS officer, was shot dead when gunmen opened fire on him with their silenced weapons in front of his house in al-Baladiyat neighborhood in eastern Baghdad .
    Rasoul praised the late Colonel Nibras Al-Faili who was an honorable example of professional and patriotic work, adding that his assassination is a treacherous and cowardly terrorist act.
     
    Regarding the International Coalition, Major General Rasoul said, "The International Coalition came at a request from Iraq to assist the Iraqi forces countering ISIS gangs, noting that there is  a coordination between the security forces and the International Coalition regarding intelligence information and air support, adding that the government  are currently focusing on arming and training to enhance our military capabilities, and there is still a need for advisors, training and exchange of intelligence information with the Coalition to confront the remnants of ISIS.

    Major General Rasoul stressed, that the threat is still exists as the areas of northeastern Syria are in the hands of ISIS till now, noting that the Joint Operations Command is working to fortify the Iraqi-Syrian borders.
