New political alliance called (For the People), that included 28 winners of the legislative elections representing the New Generation Movement, Emtidad and independent representatives, announced its refusal to participate in the next government if it was built according to the principle of quotas.

"We announce an alliance "for the people" where no cake is divided, no positions are sold, and no lives are lost,” said the head of the New Generation Movement, Sashwar Abdullah, in a press conference held in Baghdad with the participation of members of Emtidad movement and some independent winning candidates, which was attended by the reporter of the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

He explained, “It is an alliance of a homeland burdened with wounds and a project of a people who aspires to life. The citizen’s state that we aspire to, will not be achieved except through the rule of law, its application with justice and transparency in addition to the development of the accountability system, the preservation of women’s rights and the fight against corruption in all its forms,”

"We cannot achieve building a state of citizenship without security stability, as it is the most important element on the basis of which other foundations are achieved, such as the element of political stability, activating political participation, economic development and prosperity at the level of the individual and society," he noted.

He stressed that "national constants are an essential part of the national identity and basic basis on which institutions were built. Without a comprehensive national identity, it is difficult for countries to establish public institutions that represent all sects of the people,"

"We hold a trust in our necks, which requires us to achieve the goals of the people and our promises before the elections that we will not participate in the quota government as the goals of the demonstrators and voters, if they are in the region, the center and the south, which hundreds of martyrs rose and the critical ones, it is necessary to speed up the realization of the demands to ensure the future of our generations,"  he pointedout.

He highlighted, "The doors of our alliance are open to everyone, and it is honorable to those who want to build the country and seek to serve the people, as there is no place among us for those looking for their interests,”

Abdul Wahed declared, “The alliance rejected all government positions and the temptations of power, as we adhered to the future of the country and the interests of the people to proceed with the formation of the national opposition,”

For his part, the head of Emtidad movement, Alaa Al-Rikabi, said in the same conference to (INA): “For the first time, we have succeeded in concluding a political alliance that includes the brothers of one country. Our brothers from Kurds and Arabs unite in a political alliance as they seek to unify efforts in political and parliamentary work. We promise the people that the bloc will be the resounding voice in the next stage and the presentation of a different model for parliamentary work and decision-making mechanisms,”

"We will not participate in the quota government, and the basic principle will be the formation of a real political opposition in order to consolidate democracy," he stressed.

He went on explaining that "the coalition now includes 18 representatives from the New Generation and Emtidad movements, in addition to 10 independent representatives, bringing the total number of the coalition to 28, and it is expected that a number of other independent members will join the coalition as we hope to reach 40 parliamentary seats,”
