French President Emmanuel Macron will meet today, Saturday, in Jeddah, with Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, as part of his Gulf tour, to discuss a number of files, most notably the stability in the Gulf and the situation in Lebanon.

On Friday, Macron said that it is necessary to dialogue with Saudi Arabia in order to be able to work on stability in the region, and Macron intends to defend the cause of Lebanon, where the economic crisis was exacerbated by a diplomatic crisis that began in October with a number of Gulf countries, led by Saudi Arabia, which froze its imports.

These efforts are supposed to benefit from the resignation of Lebanese Information Minister George Kordahi, which was announced on Friday, as Macron welcomed and expressed his hope for "re-engaging all Gulf countries in the relationship with Lebanon."

Macron has been trying for a year to help Lebanon get out of the worst economic and social crisis in its history.
