The General Company for Ports of Iraq announced today, Thursday, its orientation to develop oil ports and increase production capacity in them, noting that this requires securing them in terms of safety procedures.
The company's media said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Director General of Iraq's Ports, Farhan Al-Fartousi, met today with the joint operating companies operating in the oil ports and was briefed on a technical presentation of the firefighting and early warning system presented by the international group NAFFCO specialized in firefighting and occupational safety.".
Al-Fartousi said, according to the statement, that "Iraq's ports are destined to develop oil ports, and this needs a high-quality firefighting and safety system," referring to "the directives of the Minister of Transport to secure the oil ports, especially the Khor Al-Zubair oil port.".
He added, "The direction of the prime minister and the ministries of transport and oil is to increase the production capacity in the oil ports, and this requires securing these ports in terms of safety and firefighting procedures.
