Defense Minister Jomaa Enad Saadoun and French Ambassador Eric Chevalier discussed strengthening cooperation in the military field.
The ministry said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA) on Tuesday: "The Minister of Defense Jumaa Inad received the Ambassador of the French Republic in Baghdad Eric Chevalier and his accompanying delegation, and the reception was attended by a number of senior Defense Ministry officers."
He added that "both parties discussed bilateral relations and joint cooperation between the two countries and ways to enhance them, especially in the military field, that France is one of the coalition countries that supports Iraq in its war against terrorism," noting that "they discussed increasing the performance level of the Iraqi armed forces through increasing training units for them.
