A committee from the Joint Operations Command headed by Lieutenant-General Saad Mizher Al-Alaq, head of the committee of supervising the elections, visited today, Monday, Al-Warka district, northeast of Al-Muthanna province, to oversee the progress of preparations for the upcoming elections.
A statement of the Joint Operations Command received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that the committee, upon its arrival, met the director of Warka district police department and the commander of the district.
During its field tour, the committee stressed "The importance of protecting the electoral centers and polling stations in the districts and villages of AL-Warka area and the good deployment of the security force there.”
The delegation explained, "The success comes as a result of concerted efforts and continuous work between the security services in the governorate and the Electoral Commission in order to provide a suitable atmosphere for holding the electoral process and to ensure that voters arrive freely to vote and choose their representatives in a safe and stable atmospheres on the tenth of October."
