Baghdad Operations Commander, Lieutenant General Ahmed Salim, revealed today, Saturday, the security plan to secure the electoral process on both sides of Al-Karkh and Al-Rasafa, while confirming that all these centers are secure.
Salim said in a statement to Al-Iraqiya News Channel, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): "The electoral process has been secured in all its stages on Karkh and Rusafa sides, where there are 10 electoral districts on the Rusafa side and 7 electoral districts on the Karkh side".
He also added that "There are approximately 2,000 electoral centers, all secured by the Baghdad Operations Command and the sectors attached to it," noting that "The stage of preparations is about to end," stressing that "All the security forces would stand ready, to secure the transportation routes and protect all the centers".
It's worth mentioning, that the Joint Operations Command had previously confirmed that the security forces entered a state of full alert to implement the security plan for the parliamentary elections, while stressing that it would not allow any aggression or pressure on citizens in the electoral centers.
