Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kadhimi announced the completion of the electoral process requirements, while warning against trying to buy votes.
“We hold our session for today as we are days away from holding the next elections, and we are all confident and optimistic that these elections will be an Iraqi precedent. In integrity and choosing the best for our people,” said PM Al-Kadhimi during the cabinet session, according to the media office of the Prime Minister in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
Al-Kadhimi noted, “We have fully accomplished all the requirements of the electoral process, security, logistical, and financially, and only time separates us from conducting it,”
“Today we were briefed on conducting the third simulation of the voting process, which was excellent and successful by all standards. We will come out with a result based on integrity and transparency in the upcoming elections," he added.
He stressed that "there will be no dominance of nepotism, forgery and corruption, no matter the cost," urging everyone to go to the polls and end the era of corruption that harmed Iraq.
"I warn against any attempt to buy votes through fake appointments or the distributing plots of lands, as they are false promises and citizens should not believe them. The temptation of citizens with false allegations is completely unacceptable, and they should not be drawn into it, as it will be monitored by us," Al-Kadhimi warned.
He concluded, "I register my thanks to the Electoral Commission and to the ministries, for creating the atmosphere for holding the elections on time,”
