Baghdad – INA
The General Authority for Meteorology and Seismic Monitoring announced on Wednesday that Iraq will experience a cold to severely cold air mass beginning next Monday.
In a statement to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), the authority reported that a frigid air mass will move in from the west and northwest of the country on Monday. This air mass is expected to deepen gradually, affecting additional cities by Tuesday and in the subsequent days, leading to a sharp drop in temperatures below seasonal averages.
The authority noted that the weather will become distinctly cold, particularly during the morning and nighttime hours, with temperatures close to zero recorded in the western Anbar and northeastern regions of the country during the peak of the cold wave effect.
Additionally, the authority stated that this cold wave is likely to be preceded by rainfall due to an incoming weather system.
