The Ministry of Communications announced today, Wednesday, obtaining the approvals to launch the first Iraqi satellite.
"Today, at the second Iraqi cybersecurity conference, the Minister of Communications, Arkan Shihab al-Shaibani, announced that Iraq will soon launch the first Iraqi satellite in Iraqi airspace," Ministry spokesman Ra'ad Mashhadani told the Iraqi News Agency (INA).
He added, "This achievement came with the support and guidance of Prime Minister Mustafa Al-Kazemi, who emphasized keeping pace with the technological development taking place in the new telecommunications sector."
Earlier, yesterday, Tuesday, the Ministry of Communications announced the importance the satellite to Iraq, in terms of satellite channels and radio frequencies, in addition to the advanced and modern technological services that serve the ministry.
