The United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF) has reported that 10 million Afghan children do not have access to adequate food, medicine and drinking water and need urgent assistance.

According to UNICEF, many children are malnourished and have to lie in hospital beds due to lack of access to basic needs.

“Today, in Afghanistan, there are nearly 10 million children in urgent need for humanitarian assistance. The least responsible for this crisis is at the highest price, within the community, due to drought.

There are children who do not have access to water. Vaccines. ” Said Sam Mort, UNICEF’s head of communications in Afghanistan.
Refugee families said they did not have enough money to feed their children.

Refugee families said they could not afford to provide their children with basic needs. “Children need clothes and food. When there is no food or clothes, the United Nations should help us,” said Shara, a refugee woman.

UNICEF reported that if the current situation continues, one million children under the age of five in Afghanistan will suffer from severe acute malnutrition.

Many doctors say the number of cases of malnourished children has increased over the past month.

“Recent changes have increased the number of patients coming to our hospital,” said Mohammad Latif Baher, director of the Indira Gandhi Children’s Hospital in Kabul.

“If the international community does not pay attention to the people of Afghanistan, especially children, Afghanistan will witness a human crisis,” said child rights activist Zarka Yaftari.
