New steps to lift the European ban over the flights, Iraqi Airways

Iraqi Airways Directorate revealed on Tuesday., new government steps to lift the European ban over Iraqi flights.

"Major steps are being taken by the Ministry of Transport, under the supervision of its minister, to attract consultants from the Aviation Leadership Organization to study and develop a mechanism to fulfill all the requirements imposed by the European Peace Agency on Iraqi airlines,” said the foreign relations official, Hussein Jalil to the Iraqi News Agency (INA).

Jalil noted, "We are in the process of completing these requirements imposed by Safa agency by (the European Peace Agency) to lift the ban,”


“By the end of this year and the beginning of next year, there will be positive reports to be submitted via the concerned Safa Agency to the European Peace Agency in order to lift the European ban on Iraqi Airways,” he added.

Earlier, on August 10th, Iraqi Airways announced discussions and an expert committee that has been working since the third month to implement all the standards imposed by the European Safety Agency, explaining that it is in the process of applying all standards to lift the air ban on airlines.
