The Ministry of Oil announced, on Wednesday, the preliminary statistics of the exported quantities of crude oil and the revenues generated for the month of August, indicating that the revenues amounted to more than 6 billion dollars.
A statement by the Ministry, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "according to the preliminary statistics issued by the Iraqi Oil Marketing Company" SOMO, the total amount of crude oil exports amounted to (94) million (660) thousand and (239) barrels, with revenues of (6) billion and (533) million and (142) thousand dollars.
The statement added that "the total quantities of exported crude oil for the month of August from oil fields in central and southern Iraq amounted to (91) million and (655) thousand and (930) barrels, while in Kirkuk fields through the port of Ceyhan, the exported quantities amounted to (3) million and (400) thousand and (309) barrels," noting that "the average daily quantities amounted to (3) million and (540) thousand barrels per day, and that the average price of one barrel amounted to more than (69) dollars."
The Ministry also confirmed, according to the statement, that "the price of crude oil, which is marketed by (SOMO), is a monthly price, not a daily one, and it is not related to the daily changes of the global oil market, and it is not subject to judgment by some individuals or websites regarding the rise and fall of Iraqi oil prices, and the announcement of inaccurate numbers according to the rise and fall of oil prices in global markets, which causes a distortion of facts and information."
