The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) announced on Tuesday, forming an investigation team to monitor electoral fraud attempts.
According to a statement by the Media Center of SJC, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), "the Council has formed a working group comprising a number of investigating judges and judicial investigators, in cooperation with the security agencies of the executive authority, to monitor attempts by some to falsify elections, manipulate the will of voters and purchase electoral cards.
The team has begun its tasks, as a number of suspects who are currently being investigated have been arrested, the statement added.
SJC warned, anyone who think of using illegal means in the upcoming legislative elections, as the most severe legal measures will be taken against those who commit such crime.
