Aboul Gheit: Baghdad Con is an important step and Iraq to be a communication mean

Secretary-General of the Arab League, Ahmed Aboul Gheit affirmed on Saturday, the League's support for Iraq's efforts to build new relations with the countries of the region.

"Iraq seeks to build new relations with the countries of the region and the Arab League supports this effort and wants Iraq to be a mean for communication,” said Aboul Gheit in his speech during Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership, followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA).


Aboul Gheit added, "The League does not want Iraq to be an arena for conflicts, and we are gathered in Baghdad conference for the love of Iraq, and it is our pleasure to participate in the conference,”

He stressed that it is time for sectarianism to be eradicated from the countries of the region as for peace and stability to prevail.
