The Secretary-General of the League of Arab States, Ahmed Aboul Gheit, will head tomorrow, Saturday morning, to Baghdad, to participate in the regional conference to support Iraq, in response to an invitation he received from the Iraqi side.
An official source in the General Secretariat of the League stated that the conference, which is attended by a group of leaders, seeks to mobilize regional and international support for Iraq, with the aim of enhancing its stability and prosperity, and supporting its continuous efforts to confront the huge challenges on the security and economic levels.
The source stressed that the Arab League keeps pace with Iraq and highly appreciates its efforts to enhance its sovereignty and improve security and economic conditions, as well as its remarkable activity for regional stability and building bridges of cooperation with various parties.
