President of the Republic Barham Salih and French President Emmanuel Macron stressed the importance of Baghdad conference within the framework of joint cooperation.
Salih said in a press conference held today, Saturday, with French President Emmanuel Macron in Baghdad and attended by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): We discussed with Macron the cooperation between the two countries and strengthening the relations, confirming that France is a commercial and economic partner and a contributor in the operations of the reconstruction.
Salih added that the meeting of leaders in Baghdad is to confirm Iraq's support, noting that there are many sides of cooperation between Iraq and France.
For years, Iraq was a title for the conflict, but today, Baghdad conference is held to emphasize the need to overcome crises and support Iraq and its stability, stressing that there are major challenges facing the region that require to be overcame, Salih continued.
On his part, Macron affirms France continues efforts to stand with Iraq in the face of challenges, adding that France's support for Iraq in the fight against terrorism will not cease.
Macron also emphasized that the economic cooperation with Iraq is essential, and France will strengthen the mutual cooperation with Iraq and the support holding the upcoming election, pointing out that Baghdad Conference for Cooperation and Partnership is a very essential stage, as it will set the framework for joint cooperation in the battle against terrorism.
