Salih welcomes Mr. Al-Sadr's decision to participate in the elections

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, welcomed Muqtada al-Sadr's decision to participate in the elections.

Salih said in a tweet to him, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), today, Friday, "We welcome Mr. Al-Sadr's decision to participate in the elections," noting that "the Sadrist movement and its audience are an essential part of society.".

The President of the Republic called on the other boycotting forces to participate in these "crucial" elections, noting that "we have a supreme national responsibility to ensure free and fair elections and secure broad popular participation to be a starting point for reform.".
