President Barham Salih stressed on Monday, that the international solidarity is vital to confront global challenges, foremost of which is the countering terrorism and extremism.
A statement by the Media Office of the Presidency of the Republic, received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), stated that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received today, the Estonian Defense Minister Kalle Laanet, noting that during the meeting, they discussed relations between the two countries and ways to develop them, and the importance of strengthening cooperation in the field of security and defense, as well as reviewing the prospects for trade, economic and cultural cooperation in a way that achieves the common interests of the two friendly peoples.
According to the statement, Salih stressed that Iraq is looking forward to strengthen its political, economic and trade relations, emphasizing the importance of international and regional solidarity in order to confront various global challenges, foremost of which is combating terrorism and extremism, alleviating tensions and ensure peace in the region.
