Salih stresses the integrity of the upcoming elections

The President of the Republic, Barham Salih, stressed today, Thursday, the need to enhance the stability of the country and ensure the integrity and fairness of the upcoming elections.

The media office of the President of the Republic said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the President of the Republic, Barham Salih, received the Secretary-General of the Iraqi Islamic Party, Rashid Al-Azzawi.".

He added, "The meeting discussed the political, security and economic developments in the country, where it was stressed the need to enhance stability in the country, protect the security of citizens, and prepare the necessary requirements for holding the elections on time in October, according to standards of integrity and justice in the various stages of their conduct, and in a way that restores the confidence of voters in the electoral process." It expresses the free will of Iraqis to choose their representatives.
