The Ministry of Migration and Displacement announced, today, Sunday, that it will communicate with the international community and international organizations regarding the Iraqis stranded in Belarus and Lithuania, while calling for humanitarian treatment with them.
Immigration Minister Evan Faiq Jabro said in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the Ministry of Migration and Displacement confirmed its commitment to voluntary return, and that those who wish to return should communicate directly with the Ministry of Immigration or through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs."

Jabro added, "The ministry is closely following the issue of Iraqis who are caught in the networks of human trafficking and illegal immigration and victim of material exploitation, and we appreciate all the reasons that push young people to this path," stressing that they "are the essence of society, and we are saddened to lose any of them as a result of false promises. We urge them to persevere in the face of challenges and stand with us to overcome all the ordeals that beset the country, without them it is impossible to rise and work.”

And she added, "We are committed to our official position, which we express in all forums, that we support the voluntary return of any immigrant, and that those who wish to return must communicate with the ministry directly or through the Ministry of Foreign Affairs," calling on them "not to be a predator for those who beg themselves to pay Young people to perdition, while we stand against preventing Iraqis from traveling as it is personal freedom.”
Jabro also called for "tightening of measures to prevent illegal immigration and the exploitation of citizens," pointing out that "we will, in turn, communicate with the international community and international organizations about the necessity of committing to humanitarian interaction with all Iraqis stranded in Belarus and Lithuania and providing them with all their living necessities until a decision is made on them."
