    Qatari Mutaz Barshim won the gold medal in the high jump competition in athletics at the Tokyo 2020 Olympic Games, scoring the third gold for the Arabs.
    Barshim had previously won the silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and won first place in the World Athletics Championships "Doha 2019" when he achieved a jump of 2.37 meters.

    Barshim started his way to the gold with a first attempt in which he jumped 2.27 m, then it was the second wonderful jump with a height of 2.30 m, which is the jump that made him lead the competition from the beginning, then he exceeded the height of 2.33 from the first attempt, then he continued his brilliance with the successful jump of 2.35 from the first attempt, Before he managed to jump 2.37, he continued to lead the overall ranking of the competitors.

    It is Qatar's second gold medal in the Tokyo 2020 Olympics and in the history of its Olympic participation in general, as Qatari weightlifter Faris Ibrahim made history yesterday by winning the gold in the 96 kg weight category.
    Tunisian swimmer Ahmed El Hefnaoui gave the Arabs the first gold medal in the Tokyo Olympics, after winning the 400-meter freestyle race last Sunday.
