The Independent High Electoral Commission announced on Sunday, that the ballot paper is in the final implementation phase, stressing that the tenth of next October will be an inevitable date for holding the elections, while noting that the beginning of the current August month will be the date for the start of the distribution of biometric voter cards.
A statement by the IHEC, that the Iraqi News Agency (INA), received by a copy of it, stated that "IHEC is striving to adhere to the timelines specified in the operational schedule for holding the elections on their scheduled date, as the Board of Commissioners confirms that the tenth of next October is an inevitable date for general voting.
The statement added, "IHEC has started the process of printing ballot papers for public and private voting, which is currently in the final stage of completion, as well as printing introductory posters for public voting and the guideline for private voting, which contain the data on the ballot paper that includes all candidates’ names, their electoral serial numbers and the logo or their photo, so that the voter can infer the name and number of his candidate for the parliamentary elections.
The statement also added that the Members of the Board of Commissioners, general managers and specialized committees are continuing their inspection tours to find out the actual reality and provide suitable solutions if necessary, affirming the enrolling of the staff of the Quality Department in the IHEC in several workshops and training courses to develop their practical skills in coordination with the General Secretariat of the Council of Ministers and the National Center in the Ministry of Planning.
Meanwhile, The Chairman of the Board of Commissioners Judge Jalil Adnan Khalaf, received on Thursday, July 29, 2021, in his office at the headquarters of the IHEC in Baghdad, and in the presence of the Secretary-General of the Council, Ali Faisal Daham, responsible for the Middle East file at the German Foreign Ministry (Christian Bock), accompanied by the Chargé d'affairs of the German Embassy to Iraq, Mr. Peter Felten ,where the Chairman of BoC confirmed that the IHEC is fully prepared to hold the elections, expressing his thanks to the German delegation for the facilities provided by his embassy in Baghdad to expedite the contract with the German examining company that it has a role in the success of the upcoming parliamentary elections.
