The Security Media Cell announced on Tuesday, the launch of a security operation south of Kirkuk province.
SMC stated in a statement received by the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that under the supervision of the Joint Operations Command, the security forces, within the forward headquarters of JOC in Kirkuk and the command post in Tuz Khurmatu, launched a security operation with the support of the Air Force, Army and the Coalition air support , to inspect areas south of Kirkuk province and the areas located on the border separating the Salah al-Din Operations Command and the forward headquarters in Kirkuk province.
The statement added, This Ops witnessed the participation of the units from the forward headquarters in Tuz Khurmatu through the leadership of the Eighth Infantry Division, the 34th Brigade, the Ninth Division, and forces from the Ministry of Interior represented by the Fifth Division of the Federal Police, the Third Brigade, as well as forces from PMF in Salah al-Din and Kirkuk provinces.
SMC continued that The security operation that was launched includes Wadi Zghitoun from the village of Al-Raml, south of the road to the village of Al-Raml (Jisr Al-Zarga) and north of this area, and Wadi Al-Shay within the area located between (Kuri Tabeh and east of the village of Zalmeh Al-Raml and south of the village of Abu Fashka) to pursue the remnants of ISIS terrorist gangs .
