The CTS spokesman Sabah al-Numan, told the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the operation that was launched today was carried out by the anti-terror agency and with the participation of the Peshmerga forces," noting that "the operation was called Operation Black Earth, and it came under the guidance of the Commander in Chief for the armed forces and under the direct field supervision of the head of the counter-terrorism agency, Lieutenant-General Abdul-Wahhab Al-Saadi.
He added, "The operation aims to search and inspect the areas of eastern Diyala, especially the Balka area, which extends on the strip separating Kifri and Tuz Khurmatu and the borders separating the region and the center," noting that "the operation aims to enhance joint coordination between the Peshmerga forces and the federal forces represented by the Counter-Terrorism Service to secure These areas and miss the opportunity for the terrorist organization to have freedom of movement and movement in this area because it benefits from poor coordination in the period prior to its movement.”
He continued, "This operation witnessed the implementation of a night air landing by the heroes of the Counter-Terrorism Service, which achieved the element of surprise and surprise," explaining that "the operation was carried out in coordination with the Iraqi Air Force through the F16 aircraft, the army aviation, the coalition aviation supporting the device and other joint forces, which carried out 6 Air strikes destroyed 5 caves.
Al-Numan affirmed that "the ground force of the Counter-Terrorism Service destroyed 4 dins," noting that "the human losses of the enemy have not been counted so far, due to the force of the air strikes that destroyed the caves."
In turn, the spokesman for the Joint Operations Command, Major General Tahsin al-Khafaji, confirmed to the Iraqi News Agency (INA), that "the ongoing operations were launched at five in the morning this morning in areas of common security interest for the first time between the Counter-Terrorism Service and the Peshmerga, which are very important in the framework of combating and chasing ISIS gangs The terrorist, which began to be active in the areas of the security vacuum between the Peshmerga forces and the Federal Forces.
