Dubai International Airport management announced today, Thursday, a collision between two planes that led to the temporary closure of one of its runways, without causing any injuries.
The Associated Press reported that the two crashed planes belonged to Fly Dubai and Gulf Air, while the authorities said there were no injuries as a result of the accident .
"Fly Dubai" said that "one of its Boeing 737-800 aircraft, which was bound for Kyrgyzstan, had a minor accident and was forced to return to the runway."
Fly Dubai also added, "The passengers traveled on a later flight, which departed six hours later."
flydubai pledged to work with the authorities to investigate the accident, noting that "the collision damaged the tip of the wing of its plane."
For its part, Gulf Air said that "the tail of one of its planes was affected as a result of a collision with a plane belonging to another airline."
The company added, "It is working to deliver all passengers to their final destinations."
Dubai International Airport authorities stated that "the collision forced them to close one of its runways for two hours, but the accident did not affect the airport's air traffic ."
