The US Embassy issued on Tuesday, a statement regarding the fire incident at Al-Hussein Teaching Hospital in Nasiriyah.
The US ambassador to Iraq, Matthew Tueller, said in the statement, which was followed by the Iraqi News Agency (INA): I am deeply saddened to hear of the terrible fire at Al-Hussein hospital in Nasiriyah, and mourn for the victims.

Tueller added, the prayers of all of us at the U.S. Mission to Iraq are with the families of those who were lost, as well as with the courageous first responders and medical staff who are caring for the injured. The United States remains committed to supporting our Iraqi partners as they respond to this tragedy, as well as the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic.
