the Jordanian State Security Court on Monday sentenced former royal court chief Bassem Awadallah, to 15 years in prison, and also sentenced Sharif Hassan bin Zaid to serve 15 years in prison.
The decision came against Awadallah and Bin Zaid after they were criminalized on charges of plotting against the monarchy regime in Jordan.
The head of the Jordanian State Security Court, Lt. Col. Muwafaq al-Masaeed, said at the beginning of the session that the accused in the case sought to cause chaos and strife in Jordanian society.
And last June, the State Security Court charged Awadallah and Sharif Hassan with inciting opposition to the existing political regime in the kingdom.
The charges against Awadallah and Sharif Hassan included "carrying out acts that endanger the safety and security of society and cause sedition.
